Out here today fixing a few panels of laminated safety glass! We had a tough time getting down to the city to repair them. It took about an hour to get down there from our shop.Then rush hour in the actual city can be pretty stressful too. Once we made it down there everything went pretty smoothly. We were able to park right out front of the store and get set up quickly. Once set up, we were able to take out both existing glass panels with ease and set them off to the side. With the glass cut and ready to go, we carried a new one over, pitched it right side up and set it into the window. Sealed it all up with the gasket and used silicone to fill in the corners where the gasket came up short.  With one done, we knocked out the second one the same way with ease!

It's still raining outside and I have to go pick up my son. You would think by now I would've learned and bought an umbrella. Constantly going in and out and carrying different electronics without cases leaving them exposed to the elements. One day I'm sure they're all going to malfunction and I'll be left wondering why. Today I was went to Wawa to get a nice hot cup of coffee. To me, there's nothing better than a 20oz hazelnut coffee with a splash of whole milk. Some people are into a ton of sugar of just regular old black coffee but that's definitely not for me. If I'm not at Wawa in the morning, I'm probably making my own cup of hazelnut at home! It's nice enjoying a cup of coffee at home because you can sit back, relax and enjoy the moment.More people should wake up early just to enjoy the peace and quit that we don't get very often these days.

It's a rainy day today in Philadelphia! Today we have an insulated glass door to fabricate and install. With our in house machinery and equipment, same day insulated glass repairs are a breeze! Busy day at JD Glass & Door Co.! Unfortunately our friends over at Little Caesar's Pizza and Domino's Pizza had people smash their glass doors. While on site, we were sure to clean up all of the glass shards left behind by the intruder. One door we installed tempered safety glass and the other was installed using laminated safety glass, which breaks like a car windshield.

For us, it's been a pretty busy year to start off. Unfortunately there have been a lot of people's doors falling off. Over time, a doors pivots or hinges can be susceptible to failure because the abuse from the elements.
